About Me
I’ve worked as a therapist for a dozen years including a decade spent with the NHS in London. I qualified with two post-graduate diplomas and an MA in Integrative counselling from Regents University, a Person-centred Experiential Certificate for Counselling for Depression from Metanoia, and I’m qualified as a Supervisor from the Minster Centre. I’ve also trained with the Tavistock for working with couples and taken a foundation course in person-centred counselling.
My work is also informed by a past career as a print and broadcast journalist and an interest in history, literature, religion, philosophy, and languages, and living in places such as The Philippines, Holland, France, the US, Ecuador, and Colombia, and travelling widely through Latin America, North and East Africa, continental Europe and the Far East. I’ve also published a non-fiction book about Latin America and recently written my first fiction work set in the world of psychotherapy. I speak conversational French and Spanish.
I can help with
I can help with depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship and identity issues, work problems and career planning, physical and emotional abuse, and problems with living and difference. My time with the NHS prepared me for dealing with a wide range of issues from across the spectrum of society. From my experiences overseas and work with multicultural clients in London, I’ve particularly enjoyed working with those struggling to match society’s perceptions of normality and previously undisclosed early trauma.
Types of therapy
I am trained in Integrative Psychotherapy, which draws on humanistic, psychodynamic, and existential thinking and look to fine-tune a bespoke treatment that complements the individual and the issues with which they present. The humanistic thrust of my training is bolstered by foundational and later training in person-centred counselling. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the most important factor for successful therapy.
Clients I work with
Over 16s, adults of all ages, and couples.

I offer an initial half-hour consultation by Zoom or phone for £40, while ongoing sessions can be either face to face in Tunbridge Wells, or when circumstances make it hard to attend in person, via Zoom or phone. A consultation allows you to see how we might work together and for me to get an idea of what brings you here.
